Acuna recalled by Chile

The 28-year-old midfielder had previously retired from international football following a failed drugs test after a game against Peru in April 2000, when he had been given the incorrect medicine by the team doctor who subsequently failed to support him at a disciplinary hearing.

Acuna is currently with the Chilean squad at a three-day training camp organised by new coach Juvenal Olmos, but what Sir Bobby’s reaction will be if he decides to play in the World Cup qualifiers is anyone’s guess.
