Dyer was one of the better England performers in Liechtenstein on Saturday, although far from impressive.
Afterwards Sven praised his performance, commenting: "He created a lot of problems for them.
"We could have scored once or twice from out there and he made their full-back's life very difficult. He used his pace very well.
"Since I've been here, that was the best I've seen him in the national team. I think he did well."
But the press seem to think that one of the best performers at the World Cup, Nicky Butt will return to the side despite struggling to get a game for Man United.
However the reports may be based on the fact that Dyer was forced to sit out training on Monday to rest his shin injury, with Butt taking his place in the ‘first-choice’ line-up in training.
If he is left out at least it will save Dyer the ignominy of being on the home side at the Stadium of Light.
