Lua Lua grabs the headlines in DR Congo win

Lomana not getting sent off for the Simbas
DR Congo’s Simbas emerged as 2-0 victors against Botswana’s Zebras in front of a 100,000 crowd in Kinshasa, in this African Nations Cup qualifier.

Lua Lua started in midfield and opened the scoring after just five minutes, with what the BBC surprisingly described as: "typically crisp finishing."

A Merlain Mpiana header then made it 2-0 after just 21 minutes and the Simbas looked to be cruising to an easy victory, until Lua Lua managed to get himself sent-off in comical circumstances.

Having been penalised for handball Lomana kicked the ball away to earn himself a yellow card. He then disputed the referee’s decision to book him and immediately received a second yellow for dissent.

Can you imagine Sir Bobby’s reaction if he done that in one of our games?

Anyway the game finished at 2-0 and if Lua Lua really is retiring from international football he certainly ended his six-cap career in style.
