And over at Match Of The Day headquarters Toon legend Alan Shearer had to take the taunts from fellow pundit Alan Hansen.
Shearer was ALMOST lost for words and didn't want to get into an indepth conversation with the former Liverpool defender.
He simply said: "It could have been eight or nine."
Hansen made it known: "If Southampton had played against NOBODY they wouldn't have had easier opposition than facing Newcastle. They were dreadful!"
Manager and self-proclaimed ‘personality’ Alan Pardew returned after his three match stadium ban bringing with him his ‘winning mentality’ and claims he would ‘revive the dressing room’.
He went to his place in the stands and greeted Mike Ashley as though he was God himself.
The look on his face ... well it was like a little kid meeting Santa Clause for the first time.
Pardew didn't lick Ashley's shoes (not THIS time, anyway) but he was obviously in the presence of 'greatness'.
Pardew watched the disaster unfold from a seat in the stands but on the evidence of Saturday it’s a shame the stadium ban couldn’t be extended indefinitely.
