Since owner Mike Ashley took full control of the club in the summer, many of the old guard have departed the corridors without further additions.
"Dastardly and Muttley" (Freddy Shepherd and Douglas Hall) have gone, but now is the time to replace them on the board.
Chris Mort (chairman): "To my mind, I'm not looking to bring in a new chairman or anything.
"There's a couple of senior people we need to add to help the management of the club, which will make life a little easier.
"I guess that eight senior people have gone and people haven't come in to replace them.
"Where I see this club in three, six, 12 months time is having a few more people at that level.
"In my role I have to be determined to take a medium-long term view and not be the guy texting into the press on a Monday morning saying everything's gone horribly wrong.
"I have to look at it more long term than that. Lots of people are clearly waiting to see where this club is going.
"Having been through last season and lots of people being unsatisfied, a lot of people have gone into this season wondering where the club's going to go.
"Is it going to continue as it is, is it going to go to a higher level."
