Steven Taylor: “Arsenal are a fantastic side, with top-quality players.
“They want to win the Premier League this year, and the pressure’s on them.
“For us, we’re at home, and we want to kick on from last year.
“We need to improve our record at St James’ Park and take more points at home – that’s vital in the Premier League.
“With the signings that have come in, there’s a lot of quality in the squad.
“Hopefully, we’ll kick on from last season.
“All we can do as players is think about our own jobs.
“We’ve got to concentrate on the job we’re paid to job, which is playing football.
“We’ve all got to stick together, and the new lads have all settled in well.
“The spirit’s been fantastic, and we’re all pulling together.
“I watched the last Arsenal game from the dugout, and I thought it showed what we’re all about.
“I thought the lads deserved it, and should have won.
“It was like we had won a cup at the end with the atmosphere in the ground – it was amazing. It just shows you should never give up, even when you’re 4-0 down – that’s the main thing. I thought Diaby’s sending off changed the game – that tackle (from Joey Barton), which was a fair tackle, got the fans off their feet.”
