Allardyce The 'New Alex Ferguson'?

Nicky Butt has urged the club not to sack under-pressure manager Sam Allardyce.

Butt is calling for United to replicate the successful set-up at Old Trafford, that he was part of for so long.

Butt: "The culture of sacking managers doesn't work.

"When you look around at top teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United the managers have been there for a lot of years and have created stability.

"(Arsenal boss) Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson have been there a long time and they get it right. That's because the manager can learn the ins and outs of the club.

"Hopefully, we will see that stability happen here. I see similarities between Sir Alex and Sam Allardyce.

"It's sad when you read Sam Allardyce is one or two games from the sack because he has come in and changed a lot of things and it will take time to get the benefit.

"The last few weeks have hurt us.

"Things have been reported that have upset the players and the manager. It wasn't true and cut deep and put everyone under pressure.

"It is a massive club to play for so you expect pressure. We understand the fans' point of view but it is not nice to play under that sort of atmosphere when you are getting booed."
