The 21-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and United are yet to offer him a new deal.
And to be honest, he doesn't look likely to get one.
The Magpies have Rob Elliot, Tim Krul and they will also have Karl Darlow back from his season long loan with Nottingham Forest.
Alan Pardew (talking to the Chronicle): “Jak is in a contract situation with us.
“He hasn’t played. I don’t know whether he is good enough or not if I am honest.
“So what are we going to do?
“Rob’s been struggling for three games but we have had to play him.
“We thought we’d get through it.
“We knew if there was going to be a doubt or he wasn’t going to play at Arsenal or Chelsea, Jak was poised.
“We have got him mentally ready. You have to pay credit to the guy.
“He was so cool.
“Me and the goalie coach had a little chat at half-time and I asked what he was like and the coach said he was more nervous than Jak.”
