The deal, struck for an undisclosed sum, is understood to be part of a long-term plan by Ashley to outdo rival JD Sports and to bring more brand names under the Sports Direct umbrella.
A Sports Direct spokesman said: “KickBack Sports is a good investment and it fits with our business plan.”
Tycoon Ashley recently acquired surfwear brand Hot Tuna for £950,000, just days after failing to acquire Blacks.
Sports Direct is expected to announce solid third-quarter results this week, which include its December sales. City analysts forecasting a like-for-like increase in revenue of about 8 per cent.
The firm is on course to hit its full-year earnings target of £215 million.
