Ryan Taylor is waiting to complete a move to St James' Park in a deal which will see the wantaway Charles N'Zogbia join Wigan Athletic.Newcastle boss Kinnear met owner Mike Ashley on Saturday night to discuss the potential for further arrivals before Monday's deadline.
Kinnear: "We spoke last night (Kinnear and Ashley).
"We're trying to get a few more faces in and we've got a few irons in the fire.
"Hopefully, something will turn round for us in the next 24 hours where we can add maybe another two decent players to the squad."
The FA are currently talking about extending the transfer window by as much as 24 hours because of the bad weather.
