Newcastle are looking to make an instant return to the Premier League next season after relegation this year.
Their hopes of doing so were handed a major boost this week as Rafa Benitez, who has been a big hit at the club since joining in March, agreed to stay at St James’ Park.
Rafael Benitez will look to find talent to spearhead a Championship promotion push
His attention has now turned to the transfer window and the plans he has to overhaul the squad in preparation for the upcoming Championship campaign.
And according to the Chronicle the Spaniard will look to make full use of the loan market to bolster his squad.
He believes that they will need a large squad for what is a long season in England’s second tier.
Adding youngsters can help with that, and according to the report, Benitez wants the youngsters to add energy and endeavour to his current selection.
As of yet, no potential targets have been named, although a striker, perhaps Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford, would surely be high in his thinking.
