Rafa Benitez has been told he does not need to sell his key players in the January window.
Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly been keeping tabs on on Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles this season.
The Sun reported over the weekend that Antonio Conte's side are considering an £18million swoop for the Magpies skipper when the transfer window reopens in January.
Lascelles has been key to Newcastle's impressive form this season after Benitez handed the 22-year-old the captain's arm band.
But the Northern Echo claim Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has assured Benitez that he is not under any pressure to sell as he's happy with the club's financial position.
