Ashley's Cost Cutting Reaches New Extremes!

Although I have passed the team bus many times over the years on my way back from matches, one Sunday newspaper claims Ashley has cancelled the usual chartered plane ... and the players have to travel by road.

Newcastle United's players travelled by bus to Merseyside for yesterday's 2-2 draw at Everton.

The People: "Over the past two years the Magpies have usually flown to away games, even those as close as Manchester or Liverpool.

"But in another cost-cutting exercise the Newcastle stars are switching to road travel."
