Newcastle United are yet to make a signing this summer as uncertainty remains as to who will be in charge of the club both in the dugout and in the boardroom next season.
Newcastle United's Christian Atsu has made it clear that he wants to stay at the club for 'many years' to come as he focused his attention on the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Ghana international will represent his home country in the AFCON's this month and he will be hoping to make his mark in front of a large audience.
During the recently concluded Premier League season, versatile attacker Atsu was a regular member of Rafa Benitez's side as they secured a 13th-placed finish.
Whilst Benitez's future at St James' Park remains unclear, Atsu is in no doubt as to where he will be next season as Newcastle fans will be hoping he can produce the goods next term.
“I’m very happy at Newcastle," said Atsu, as quoted by GhanaWeb. "I’m happy with fans, especially the manager Rafa Benitez and the entire staff. I would love to stay there for many years but it will depend on me and my performance. I have to do my job”
Last season, Atsu played 28 Premier League games for the Magpies, but he only managed to score one goal and he failed to secure an assist for his teammates.
