Kendall wants Beardsley as his No 2 if he lands the vacant Republic of Ireland job.
Beardsley Set For Ireland Job?
Ryton-born Kendall left his last managerial post in 1999 wants a return to football and the chance to be Steve Staunton's successor suits him down to the ground.
The 61-year-old has already approached Beardsley, who he worked with during his second spell in charge at Everton.
Kendall: "I've been in the north east and I've spoken to Peter. He said he'd love to work with me again."
We came across Kendall in Majorca, where he has a holiday home, and he happily joined the lads for a daily "slup".
A gentleman indeed. When we asked him what his happiest times were, he graciously said: "drinking with you boys!"
Now that's a guaranteed way to get free beer, isn't it!
