The Welsh striker has scored just once in his last 20 games for United and is aware that he needs to improve that record, hopefully starting with Saturday’s clash against Bolton Wanderers.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "There's not a better feeling in the world than running out in front of 52,000 Geordies knowing that every single one of them is willing you to do well.
"I'm due a goal - and it goes without saying I would love it to come against Bolton Wanderers tomorrow.
"What happened with Wales happened and it is all in the past now.
"All that matters is that Newcastle United get three points tomorrow and we get back into winning ways which will put us in good heart for next week with Breda and Arsenal."
Goals from Bellamy would obviously be welcome but a return to the kind of form that his seen him run Premiership defences ragged for long periods of the last two seasons, using his pace and trickery to create chances for himself and team-mates is what we need most.
