Leo Beenhakker: "I got him on the phone, I sent him a detailed text message, to ask him if he will stop the nonsense.
"I said to him, 'Friend, you can say anything you want, but while you are still owned by Manchester City, I cannot.
"It is as simple as that. As soon as he is free from his club, he knows where he can find me. Until then, these are cowboy stories.
"I saw he said in the media, 'Beenhakker takes me seriously'. That bothers me. There's just a huge price tag on him. If it comes off, then we can talk."
New Wales manager Gary Speed is set to hold talks with Bellamy to discuss the national captaincy.
Bellamy is in pole position to retain the armband for Speed's first game in charge in the new Four Nations tournament against Republic of Ireland in Dublin on February 8.
Speed: "I'll be sitting down with Craig in the next few days and having a chat with him.
"I speak to him often because I played with him for Newcastle and Wales. I know Craig as an individual and he's his own man.
"He's certainly got his own pathway mapped out in life and does what he feels is the best for himself.
"He is single-minded, but that is why he has been so successful in his career."
