The deal is not done and dusted, but the Manchester City forward says he is considering their offer.
City boss Roberto Mancini has not got on with the Welsh striker since he moved to the club, and it is no surprise he is shipping him out of Manchester ... but with a number of Premiership clubs (including Spurs and Fulham) interested ... Cardiff would be expected to be bottom of the list for any star player.
But the 31-year-old has his family there ... and City would love to get him out of the Premiership for obvious reasons ... they don't want him to return with another club and burst their Premiership bubble.
A six-month loan switch has reportedly been agreed, although Bellamy would not confirm it.
Bellamy: "Would I love to get Cardiff City to the Premier League? Of course I would.
"I feel I'd have more of an impact doing that than playing 100 games for Wales. For us to move forward as a nation football-wise, we need a Premier League team.
"I have always wanted to play for Cardiff. I've never been shy in saying that.
"My wife and kids live here, I've missed them now for the last five or six years, so that would have more of a pull to me than most.
"I will have to wait and see and see what options are possible but I certainly wouldn't rule it out."
