Besiktas club president Fikret Orman is trying to save some face on the matter saying: “Buying star names is easy but what we want are players with character.
“We had an agreement in place to sign Ben Arfa however, after doing some research we were uncomfortable with some of his actions so we decided to withdraw from the transfer.”
Ben Arfa moved to Hull City on a loan deal on Monday after a battle of words with Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.
However, the 27-year-old told Birmingham City and Besiktas on FRIDAY that he would NOT be joining them.
