The Newcastle skipper said,
“I have looked at the teams left in it and without a doubt I think Newcastle and Olympiacos are two of the strongest teams left,"
"You look at who was knocked out in the last round - Ajax, Valencia, Feyenoord - there are some big teams who have gone out and if we get through this game, we have set ourselves up very nicely.
"But we have got to get through it first."
Newcastle are currently 13/2 second favorites to win the competition with Spanish outfit Villarreal the 6/1 bookies choice as favorites.
The fact that our neighbors from the Riverside Stadium, the land that exciting football forgot, are fourth favorites further emphasises the fact that this a fantastic opportunity to end our 36 year wait for some silverware.
