Highly-rated Perez has acknowledged that he needs to bulk up to continue his swift rise.
The Spanish forward has hit five goals in 21 games this season but has been rested recently after John Carver acknowledged he needed a break.
“Even I’m surprised how well my season is going so far – it really is a dream come true. I’ve always regarded the Premier League as the best in the world ad have always dreamed of coming here,” he said.
“Every team’s got big, strong players – I face that challenge in every game. I’m a bit weak in the strength and physiciality department, but I’m working on that.”
Perez also told Match of the Day magazine that he is flattered by comparisons with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
“We all know how good Luis Suarez is. Being compared with him flatters me – I would sign right now to be half the player he is,” he said.
