Manchester City have parted company with first-team coach Fazackerley, and he could team up with the Toon "old boys" Kevin Keegan and Terry McDermott.
The 56-year-old former Blackburn player joined City in 2001 and worked under managers Kevin Keegan, Stuart Pearce and Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Fazackerley leaves Eastlands following the arrival of new boss Mark Hughes, who has already brought in the second biggest name in football ... Eddie Niedzwiecki.
He is again being linked with Newcastle, just as he was when Keegan began his second spell at St James' Park earlier in the year.
