DeAndre Yedlin has brushed off picking up a black eye as just part of the game.
When he left for international duty after the win at Rotherham, the full-back was sporting both a black eye and a heavily strapped ankle.
Both injuries were picked up during the Aston Villa match a week before.
DeAndre Yedlin:
“It (black eye) was from the Villa game, I have got some scars.
“It is a physical league and I was prepared for it – the medical staff have done a great job in getting me back fit.
“It’s just something you have to go through. That’s fine.
“This league is a very physical league, so you have to prepare for it.
“You want that (plenty games), especially as a younger player.
“ It’s great, as there are so many games and so many opportunities to play.
“It’s a great move for me to come here. Playing under Rafa has been unbelievable.
“He (Matt Ritchie) is a great player to play with and he is always going to give one hundred per cent.
“If you make a mistake he is right there behind you which is huge.
“So long as you have got their back and they have got yours, I think it is a hard connection to stop.
“I haven’t run the 100m since I was 14 and I don’t remember my time and I haven’t run track since then.
“Pace is just something I’ve been blessed with since I was little, I guess, it is a strength of mine and I try use it.”
