Boo Boys Have A New Target

Last updated : 05 March 2017 By Footy Mad - Editor

After Colback and Dummett, the Toon Boo Boys have switched to a new(ish) target.

Image result for Huddersfield 1 Newcastle 3Mohamed Diame played the full 90 minutes against Huddersfield on Saturday evening, but Newcastle fans on Twitter were far from impressed by what they saw.

The 29-year-old lined up once more behind the striker after bagging a fluke goal against Brighton in midweek.

However, he did not enjoy the same success in Yorkshire despite his team achieving a 3-1 win with goals from Matt Ritchie, Darly Murphy and substitute Dwight Gayle cancelling out an Aaron Mooy penalty.

The three points achieved did not see Diame escape criticism either and a large number of Newcastle supporters were quick to compare him to former flop Moussa Sissoko.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Diame is a slow motion Sissoko

Diame has returned six goals and two assists in 31 appearances for Newcastle this season after joining from Premier League outfit Hull in the summer.

He has not performed as many would have expected him to so far in his Toon career, but he has still played a part in the club’s success this campaign.

Benitez’ side’s victory on Saturday evening means they now sit five points clear of Brighton in second after their 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest earlier in the week, while there’s a massive 11 point gap between themselves and Huddersfield in third with 11 games left.
