The Magpies and the Villans find themselves at the wrong end of the Premier League table, but we have a lot of signings to give us hope ... Villa don't have a pot to piss in.
I have ALWAYS loved going to Villa Park, and we have never had an axe to grind with their supporters ... not until they mercilessly taunted the Toon fans when we were relegation to the Championship at Villa Park on the last day of the 2008/09 season.
Steven Taylor: “I’ll never forget that day – I was devastated.
“I remember going there the morning of the game, and having the Villa fans singing songs that we were going down. It wasn’t a nice place to be.
“I think we only had about one or two shots in the whole of that game. And then we were relegated. That’s the worst feeling I have ever had as a footballer.
“Hopefully we can put that right.
“It’s not just about this game. We have to kick-start our season and do well in the remaining matches.
“Sticking together is key for us.
“We all have to help each other out, because we can’t afford any passengers in any game from now until the end of the season.
“These remaining games are like cup finals to us, and we all have to do our bit.”
