The £6million summer signing has been out with a hamstring injury since the Champions League victory over Kyiv and was due to make his comeback in Monday night’s postponed reserve game with Everton.

But despite his lack of match fitness Sir Bobby is likely to risk putting Bramble straight back in against West Ham because of the poor form of the defence.

Kieron Dyer is also due to make his comeback from injury on Saturday after sitting out the Liverpool and Wolves matches.
