Cabaye’s future at St James’ Park was called into question over the summer, with Arsenal having a £10m bid knocked back.
But Alan Shearer says the French international appears more settled with the Magpies following their impressive recent form.
Would Cabaye be better off at Arsenal?
Do they still want him?
Alan Shearer (talking to the Mirror): ‘I would expect him to stay.
‘Newcastle are having an excellent season.
‘It wouldn’t surprise me if one or two big clubs came in for him because he’s a good player.
‘I know his future was up in the air at the beginning of the season and Arsenal were rumoured to be in for him.
‘But the more clubs that come in for Newcastle players the better because that means they’re doing very well.’
