Kevin Nolan: "It was brilliant – in my first two seasons in the Premier League, I managed to score at Old Trafford, and we won both games.
"The 2-1 was brilliant. We were 1-0 down from an amazing (Juan Sebastien) Veron free-kick, then I put in a volley.
"It was 1-1 for most of the game, and we hung in there and hung in there, and we just got a breakaway and (Michael) Ricketts put it in there. It was a fantastic finish – it was just brilliant.
"The year after we got routed, and I just remember David Beckham taking a touch, and I took it off him.
"It went under (Fabien) Barthez, and it was brilliant.
"It was an absolutely great feeling. At that time I was 19 and 20, and I had a bit of a thing for Man United when I was younger.
"I used to think they were brilliant, even though I'm a Scouser! I really enjoyed it.
"Hopefully, it'll be the same again, and it'll be a good start for us.
"I'm looking forward to it. This is what we wanted last season, this is what we talked about, and this is what the fans wanted.
"We wanted to be back in the big time, and we are.
"We've got to make sure we prove we belong there. That's what this group of lads has, and hopefully a couple of new faces, have got to do.
"It'll be tough. Hopefully, we can stick together and make sure we get a result."
