The home club sold 1,800 tickets yesterday, as queues formed outside of the ground. Some, I have to add, I recognise as Newcastle fans.
Carlisle Expect Bumper Geordie Jackpot
Carlisle managing director John Nixon said it was still too early to predict the size of Saturday's crowd, but a five-figure gate is anticipated.
Nixon: "We have 13,000 tickets for home fans which is ample - there is no need to panic."
Carlisle are not expecting the trouble they experienced the last time Sunderland visited the ground. Trouble started in the town centre after the match as the Mackems made their way to the train station.
They even burst into a wedding reception in a hotel next to the station and started a fight with wedding guests. Several pubs were closed down and two streets in the centre were blocked off as windows were broken and cars attacked.
