Mick Quinn: “I think he would be a great Newcastle No 9, but he’s got to keep his head.
“If he focuses on the job and the responsibility of being No 9 he’ll do OK.
“He needs to keep out of trouble, of course, but he has the charisma to be an efficient striker for the club.
“It would be a great boost for him if Chris hands him the number and I think it will be a step in the right direction for him.
“He’s certainly got plenty of potential and he’s a bit more of an all-rounder than I was. He gets around the pitch, holds the ball up and he works the channels and flanks.
“When people say he’s a future England star they’re are right.
“He can certainly go on and be that if he wants it.”
