Poyet, son of Sunderland boss Gus, was only 16 and 17 when he took to Twitter to mock Carroll several times.
The now 19-year-old midfielder joined the Hammers from Charlton this summer and already had to apologise for calling the club ‘scum’ on the social media website.
Poyet has now cleared the air with Carroll.
