Andy Carroll: "It's a compliment to be linked with the England team. And at the moment that's all it is. I'm not going to get distracted from my task.
"I need to just work hard in training and do my stuff in games.
"I don't look at anything like that, not at the league tables too much, top scorers tables or papers - and I don't watch too many games on TV.
"I just solely focus on the next game. And if I score and we are winning, then I know I'm doing my job correctly.
"I'm not really into watching other games, I just focus completely on Newcastle United and doing the best for our fans.
"I know a few of the lads like to read up on things, but I find out a few days before who we're playing and concentrate on that.
"It's working very well for me at the minute, but I know I have to keep working hard to keep it up.
"It's always about the next game."
