Carroll Reminds Kinnear He Is Ready For His Chance!
Andy Carroll: "Overall, I'm happy. My fitness hasn't been as high as I'd like it, but I've been doing extra work in training, and that's made a difference.
"Now I'm up there in terms of fitness. I've played 90 minutes for the first time this season. I kept on running strong until the end, and hopefully the manager will see something to give me the chance.
"Newcastle United comes first. If I'm needed here as cover for injuries, then so be it.
"I'd love to go on loan, but we're short at the moment, so I just need to see what happens. I'll just keep trying to get in the first team, but if a loan comes along, it would be good for experience."
