Shearer watched the striker blast two goals for Newcastle United's second string against Man City.

Shearersaw Carroll star in Newcastle's 2-1 Premier Reserve League win over Manchester City.

Shearer: "I asked all the players who were involved with the first-team at the weekend to put in a good shift, and they've all done that.

"All of them are going to have a part to play. I asked Andy to show me what he can do, and he's done that. All of the lads showed great appetite and attitude."
