The 20-year-old has broke through into the first-team squad and looks set for a bright future ... but it could be away from St James' Park.

Premier League goals against Manchester City and West Ham have made him a valuable member of the squad while big name stars like Michael Owen, Oba Martins, Alan Smith and Mark Viduka have been missing.

However, Newcastle's current offer of a five-year deal has been shunned by England youth international Carroll.

The Gateshead-born front-man has two-years left on his current deal, but Newcastle are keen to extend that.
