“I am actually getting on quite well with him recently, probably the best I’ve ever got on with him.
“I have had a chance to sit down and talk to him. Obviously he had a few issues at home and it is well known that I have had family issues as well.
“So it was quite nice to sit down with him.
"He is quite a nice guy when you sit down with him and have a real conversation about family life, nothing to do with football. And that brought us closer together.
“I have had an incredible month but you just have to deal with it.
“I went into the Everton game with more pressure and you do feel it. I feel it because wherever I go – whether in the city, or the petrol station at home – I get it from all angles.
“I am not the manager but I am in that technical area and everyone is looking at you as the manager on the day – and then you take even more criticism, if that is possible.”
