Last weekend was just like all the others ... when a team loses ... the finger of blame is pointed at the referee.
Every single Premiership manager from a team that lost points blamed the man in black ... Liverpool, Hull, QPR, Aston Villa, West Brom, Burnley, Stoke, Leicester and Sunderland.
And John Carver was just the same.
Against Arsenal, a handball from Francis Coquelin in the second half and a clear foul on Remy Cabella resulted in ref Mike Jones waving away protests from Toon players.
United were also denied a penalty at Everton when James McCarthy used his arm to block on the line from a Mike Williamson shot and Manu Riviere was fouled by Jonny Evans in a recent home game with Man United.
Carver said after another weekend of failed penalty appeals: “I keep talking about not getting penalties.
“Today (against Arsenal) was a prime example of that.
“His (Coquelin) arm was in an unnatural position and the direction of the ball changed.
“It’s a penalty and we don’t get them.”Carver is in dire need of a win against Sunderland in the Wear-Tyne derby."
Managers will NOT blame their players in public ... so referees had better grow thick skin.
