John Carver: “I am raging inside. It is very frustrating.
“I’m so disappointed for the guys more than anybody else, because for 89 minutes, I thought we were outstanding.
“We don’t have the same ability as Manchester United – Manchester United have world-class players – but we have matched them for 89 minutes.
“We had a good shape to the team, we were difficult, we were starting to frustrate them – that’s why the manager had to revert to his bench – but to concede the goal the way we did is disappointing.
“But what is even more disappointing is the fact that in the first half, a blatant penalty not given.
“Anthony Taylor is a human being, he hasn’t given it.
“He sees it once, we see it time and time again, and I saw it at half-time about five times and it’s still a penalty.
“But he’s a human being. He’s made a mistake and I’m a bit frustrated with that.
“I spoke to Jonas Gutierrez, who is as honest as the day comes, and I said ‘was it our throw-in?’ and he said ‘absolutely'.
“It came of their guy’s leg and went out for a throw-in
“They take a quick throw – we should have defended a lot better – and it ends up in the back of our net, so I am raging inside.”
