The Toon goalkeeper held up his hands last night and took full blame for the crazy own goal that has kicked Celtic out of the Europa League ... for the SECOND time.
The Hoops keeper got involved in a major mix-up with Cha Du-Ri after half-an-hour and saw the South Korean’s clumsy passback from 30 yards out bobble past him and over the line.
Fraser Forster: “I have to be a bit louder, probably.
“I just wasn’t loud enough and it was completely my fault, but that’s football.
"The manager has been absolutely fantastic with me ever since I walked through the door
“I do feel relief, but it’s nice in any game just to make some saves and then to see Charlie put in a fantastic free-kick with a great header from Joe.
“That’s got me off really, but that’s how it goes in football.
“I’m pleased with the way I bounced back. You just have to put it behind you and move on.
“It can be a lonely place when you have made a mistake, but I just have to forget it ever happened and accept you can’t change the past.
“That’s what being a goalkeeper is all about.
“You do feel after a mistake like that you have to make a big save. Sometimes, it comes and sometimes it doesn’t.
“Luckily, it came in this game and I was there to make the saves.
“Mistakes like that shouldn’t happen, but you just have to be positive and move on when they do.
“There isn’t a person on the planet who hasn’t made a mistake at their work – especially in football – so I had to get on with it.
“I just did what I had a to do and made some saves, but I’m playing in a fantastic team with fantastic players and the back four were tremendous. Everyone gave 100 per cent.
“I didn’t have much time to think about the saves I made really. It’s just instinctive saves sometimes which are the best and that’s what I’m paid to do.”
