Last season you were asked to pay £40 for the appalling view from the bottom tier of the East Stand at Stamford Bridge, but this season the price will be £42.
And we are among the lucky ones, the supporters of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs will be charged £49 for the same privilege.
However supporters of some of the Premiership’s so-called ‘less fashionable’ clubs will be able to purchase the same tickets for just £31.
Next season it’s not just away fans who will have to endure it either, with non-season ticket holders at Stamford Bridge being charged between £42 and £57 for a ticket for our fixture there - although they presumably will have the advantage of being able to see the whole pitch from their seats.
Chelsea’s ticket pricing policy is quite frankly a disgrace and its about time that either the Premier League or other Premier League clubs started to take some action over it. Newcastle United’s directors must realise that the supporters are the customers who help to keep the company in business and that to let them be ripped off by other clubs is hardly satisfactory customer service.
