Happy as a room without a roof
The Chronicle: "Cisse’s sixth and seventh of the season also means that he has now bagged 30 Premier League goals since signing from Freiburg almost three years ago and Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Shola Ameobi, Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand, Nobby Solano and Rob Lee are the only players ahead of him in the Toon’s all-time Prem scoring chart."
All well and good, the Chronicle don't normally get their facts wrong, but there WAS life before the Premier League.
Or perhaps the editors, a lot younger than me (I'm sure), have only experienced Newcastle United Football Club during the SKY TV-induced Premiership years.
So who has scored more than Cisse? Where do I start?
I remember Mick Quinn, Bryan Robson and Alan Gowling scored more than Cisse's total in one SEASON!
And long before my time, Hughie Gallacher, George Robledo, Albert Shepherd and Charlie Wayman all did the same.
Is Papiss happy at the moment? I think he is.
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Papiss Cisse: “I don’t think about how many goals I’m going to score.
“I’m just happy to play and to score. I like scoring in every game I play.
“I try to just do my best.
“I’m not young now, I’m 29. I’m not angry, I just wait for my time and even if it’s just five minutes I will try to do well for those five minutes.
“I will wait to see if I play against Arsenal, I’ll work hard in training this week and see if the gaffer will play.
“The gaffer just said score a goal.
“That’s it. And that’s what I did. It’s very very good to play at St James’ Park, it’s a very nice place.
“I”m so happy to play here every week.
“I know the fans are very good. It’s been a good week, especially because it’s been against Chelsea.
“If you come on in the second half and score two goals, you need to be happy.
“I say thank you to my team as well. It was a very important win for the team, nobody had won against Chelsea yet, but today Newcastle did it.
“It was not an easy game so this gives us lots of confidence going forward.
“I’m very very happy. I say it all the time, but I am just doing my job.
“All the players are happy, the gaffer as well.
“The team is just happy because if all the fans are happy, the team is happy.
“So we are all just happy.”
