The members of the Facebook group are now under investigation by the Northumbria Police after they verbally attacked the 28-year-old over his objection to wearing to the club's new shirt sponsorship deal with internet loan company Wonga.
Northumbria Police have announced that investigations are underway to identify those guilty on the social networking website.
"We have been made aware of abusive comments made on Facebook," Chief Superintendent Dianne Winship said.
"Northumbria Police take all reports of abuse very seriously and enquiries are being conducted."
The Senegal international has insisted that will refuse to wear a shirt advertising Wonga due to the beliefs of his religion which prevents he lending of money under Shira Law, although Virgin Money was a club partner last term.
The abuse comes shortly after Cisse's girlfriend, Rachelle Graham, had her twitter account hacked and used to spread racist abuse.
