... Papiss Cisse has no interest in a move to Borussia Monchengladbach - despite speculation linking him with a move back to the Bundesliga.
Cisse has been linked with a move to Gladbach as part of a swap deal involving Luuk De Jong, the man Pardew has as his top target in the January window.
But the Chronicle claims that the switch does not suit Cisse because there is no guarantee of the regular first team football he craves at United.
The Chronicle: "Gladbach can’t afford De Jong first team action with Brazilian Raffael and German star Max Kruse ahead of him in the pecking order.
"And Cisse would also have to start from scratch to find a way into the Gladbach side.
"It is believed that instead Cisse is eager to stay at Newcastle and fight for his place.
"If Cisse is told he has no future at Newcastle his preference is believed to be staying with a Premier League club - a move that United have already blocked this season.
"Indeed, West Ham put in a loan offer for Cisse only to have it rejected by the Magpies.
"Now with the Hammers having extended Carlton Cole’s contract on an 18 month deal, it is unlikely that West Ham will come back."
Cisse may also battle for his place then consider his options at the end of the season.
