.... in a 0-0 stalemate at Kingston Park on Monday.
Pavel Srnicek and another Toon old boy, Olivier Bernard, joined a young team that kept it's unbeaten home record intact.
Clark: "I thought it was a very good performance on the night. We were very committed, and played some very good football. We knew what to expect from Wigan.
"They're a very committed bunch of players. It was important that we matched that, which we did, and we played some great football at times.
"Unfortunately, there weren't many chances. We had a lot of play, Pav made a couple of good saves, and also their keeper made a couple of decent saves. We got the clean sheet we wanted, but we would have liked to have got a goal at the end to win the game. It wasn't to be, but the performance was pleasing."
