Newcastle are on a major slide while Hughton's Norwich are the surprise team of the season in the Premiership.
Are we missing him? You tell me.
But they certainly miss him at Birmingham, where Lee Clark is the boss.
Brum are the only team in the Championship not to have opened the scoring inside the first 15 minutes of a game and they have been behind in half of their matches by half-time.
Peter Lovenkrands: “It’s hard. I think it’s about the confidence of the boys. When we go 1-0 down everybody goes ‘oh no, here we go again’ type of thing.
“It shouldn’t be that way. We are always trying our best to go ahead.
“And we almost did on Saturday when I had a shot and the goalkeeper made a good save, then they went and scored.
"With nearly half the season gone, comparisons continue to be made about Birmingham under Chris Hughton.
“Of course I wasn’t here last year and it’s a bit difficult for me to say.
“Birmingham did fantastic last year, they had so many games with Europe as well. A lot of credit for that.
“This year, it’s just not worked the way we hoped for.
“Some games we’ve been playing great but not got a result, some games we’ve been terrible and managed to get something from it.
“There has just not been that consistency and it’s what we need to get sorted.”
