Newcastle players were left frustrated by referee Mike Jones’ decision not to award a penalty at the Stretford End on Friday, but it's the age old question ... who gets a penalty against Man Utd at Old Trafford?
But ... in the 89th minute we got one at the other end!
Jack Colback (told the Chronicle): “It looks a stonewall penalty.
“I asked the ref and he said that we (United) would have been disappointed if we’d got that against us.
“But I don’t think we would.
“It’s a pen.
“It did look like it was too high for Gouff, he looked like he would head it.
“But whether it’s accidental or not he has denied a chance hasn’t he?
“If we’d gone 1-0 up it would have changed the game.
“Most of the games we scored first in this season we went on to get a positive result from them.
“That was disappointing.
“But the goals we did concede were too easy really.
“We try to take positives.
“But at the end of the day it is still a defeat.
“It’s a little run we have got in which we need to stop as soon as possible.
“Against Sunderland I think we were unfortunate.
“I don’t think we deserved to lose that one.
“But we did.
“We’ve lost at Man United and on another day it could have been different.
“That’s the nature of this league, Man United had world class players going forward and we were punished again.
“We need to dust ourselves down and make sure we are ready for a game on Sunday.”
