Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez will bring Jack Colback and Henri Saivet back in from the cold in tonight’s Under-23 clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The former Sunderland midfielder was told he had no future at Newcastle in the last couple of weeks of the transfer window and has been training with the kids at the club’s Academy.
Colback turned down moves to Hull City and Wolves in the summer and told Benitez he wanted to fight for his place.
It is believed he stated geographical factors were the reason he didn’t want to leave the North-East.
Saivet was offered to several clubs in France and Spain but Newcastle could not get a buyer for the former Bordeaux man.
The pair find themselves in the reserve team line-up to face Wolves at St James’ Park with Dwight Gayle and Rolando Aarons making up a strong starting XI.
Two weeks ago Peter Beardsley also selected Jonjo Shelvey in his reserve team in a 2-2 draw against Norwich City.
Benitez will want to see solid performances from all four of his first team players as they line up against Scott Sellars’ Wolves team tonight.
