Coloccini arrived on Tyneside for just over £10million from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, whilst Alves was a club record signing for Middlesbrough when they paid Heerenveen more than £12million in January 2008.
Sevilla, who are third in La Liga with one match remaining, already have a strong South American presence in their squad and they would have no qualms about introducing another Argentine or Brazilian international.
