The Argentinian is yet to play for the Magpies this pre-season, having sat out their games against Chemnitzer and Monaco, with Steven Taylor, Tim Krul and Papiss Cissé still to be involved.
The 30-year-old sat on the bench against Monaco, but Pardew opted not to throw the South American into the mix, leaving him the only out-field player in the squad that night not to feature.
Alan Pardew: “We might see Fabricio against Fenerbahçe, we’ll see.
"He wants to be right. And he’ll do extra work to get there. That’s the type of player he is.
“It’s disappointing for Papiss, he may not figure.”
