Fabricio Coloccini: “It took me a little while to get used to things.
“The first year was hard. I wasn’t really used to the English style.
“I don’t know if I would say I am a better player now, but I am certainly much more experienced in the Premier League.
“The football is different over here and some players need six months or a year to adapt to it. I feel much better suited to English football, I certainly feel more comfortable.
“I feel like an English defender now. I am starting to think like an English player much more. English defenders have to be different to La Liga.
“In La Liga, you can pretty much go where you want because if you lose the ball the other team will attack slowly and you will have time to get back into position.
“In English football, the play switches from one end to the other very quickly. La Liga is more tactical – here, your position is much more important because a safe position can be a dangerous one very quickly.
“The squad has been together for three years or so now.
“A lot of players have played together and we know more about each other and how we play than two or three years ago.
“Last year was difficult because we were in the Championship and every weekend we were watching the matches from the Premier League and wishing we were there.
“Now, we have to enjoy the Premier League and make sure we stay in it.”
